(AP) -- Democrat Alison Lundergan Grimes is getting financial support from some of the biggest names in Hollywood in her bid to unseat Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell. Steven Spielberg, Jerry Seinfeld, Danny DeVito and Barbra Streisand were among a long list of celebrities in Grimes' first fundraising report to the Federal Election Commission. Grimes received $2.5 million in contributions from July through September and still had $2 million cash on hand. McConnell raised $2.3 million over the same period, bringing his overall total to $17.7 million. He reported $10 million cash on hand. Both have been working hard to raise money from inside and outside Kentucky.
Source: http://hosted.ap.org/dynamic/stories/K/KY_KENTUCKY_SENATE_CELEBRITIES_CAOL-?SITE=AP&SECTION=HOME&TEMPLATE=DEFAULT
I remember when she came to support Chaz, Karina said. Everybody was literally just watching her the whole show and she has so inspired so many ideas and outfits. Every time Chers performing, you wonder what shes going to wear. Corbin enthused, She needs to have seven different costume changes. She needs to continue to change throughout the night, a bunch of different outfits. The dance partners also spilled the beans, revealing the celebrities and their partners will be dancing to Chers songs during the show next week. We're sorry, but this content is not available to your web browser. Corbin said, Im just nervous to be dancing to her song and having her judging it. Its crazy. Corbin and Karina will do the Argentine tango and there arent many options of a Cher song that would work, but the dance pro smiled to reporters, I did my research and I think I know what it is.
Source: http://xfinity.comcast.net/blogs/tv/2013/10/29/dwts-celebrities-believe-cher-will-be-a-great-guest-judge/
on Saturday -- incidentally, also the 12th anniversary of the passing of the Patriot Act. Stop Watching Us is a coalition of over 100 advocacy groups and companies who came together earlier in the summer for a petition drive demanding Congress investigate NSA surveillance programs. The Freedom of the Press Foundation, of which Cusack is a board member, is part of the coalition. Tech companies who Kim Kardashian participated in NSA programs aren't treated gently in the video: "We have also learned of the large-scale collaboration with telecom giants, Internet companies and service providers," says Wheaton. Many of the technology companies participating in the reference PRISM program say they were legally compelled to comply. And at least one company, Yahoo , reportedly pushed back against requests in the Foreign Surveillance Intelligence Court on Fourth Amendment grounds but was denied.
Source: http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/the-switch/wp/2013/10/24/these-celebrities-want-you-to-fight-back-against-nsa-spying/
100 Most Liked Celebrities of the Past 100 Years
After the negativity visit of yesterday, lets lighten the tone around here and concentrate on the positive. What actors or actresses do you just LIKE, on a gut level, people you just respond to positively, whether youve met them or more.. not? (And please indicate whether you have met them.) Actually, not just actors or actresses you can also include people in the public eye, though once again, lets TRY to steer clear of politics, or else well just get into the usual boring back and forth. In your choices, dont limit yourself to people who are alive or that even WERE alive during your lifetime. For example, Ive always just liked John Barrymore. He died in 1942, but I just like the guy. Or Marie Dressler. She has been dead since 1934. Somebody I did meet and like is pictured above Shelley Winters. I interviewed her in 1989. So this is what were looking for the most beloved celebrities of the last 100 years. And thanks to Leba Hertz, my editor who you might know from the old podcast. When I mentioned that I think I accidentally sponsored a three minutes hate yesterday, she suggested this idea. A Three Minutes Love. Or at least Like. Please include your choices in the comments below, along with your reasons, or email me at the above email address.
Source: http://blog.seattlepi.com/mlasalle/2013/10/29/100-most-liked-celebrities-of-the-past-100-years/

Celebrities Repeating Clothes: Is It A Bad Thing?
See more: The Most Flattering Wedding Dress for Your Body Type In the spirit of our recent Dream Wedding Dress Showdown, we thought we'd take a moment to compare Ciara and Kim Kardashian's new left-hand rocks. After all, it's not every day we come across two 15-carat beauties like these. Let's start with the cut: Ciara's engagement ring is made up of multiple emerald-cut diamonds, while Kim's is a solitaire comprised of one cushion-cut stone (albeit an enormous one). See more: Engagement Rings Under $5,000 Kim's ring has a more delicate setting-Kanye said he wanted it to look like Kim's center stone was "floating on air," so jeweler Lorraine Schwartz designed it with a thin band. Celebrities Who Believe In Ghosts!
Its no secret that celebs are always under constant pressure to look good and that theyre photographed a majority of the time they leave their houses, so its a lot easier to spot if they wear something more than once. Jessica Alba is one of the most stylish stars in Hollywoodshould it really matter that shes wearing an article of clothing more than once? More public figures and style icons like Michelle Obama and Kate Middleton are fairly regular repeat offenders. Lucky mags new star EIC Evan Chen informed attendees at this months Lucky FABB Conference 2013 that editors repeat things they love all the time, while famous fashion blogger Bryanboy admitted to being caught in the same things over and over. Isnt it better to repeat something than to toss it to the side? We think its a bit refreshing to see a celeb wearing something more than once, like regular people do.
Source: http://styleblazer.com/192838/celebrities-repeating-clothes-is-it-bad-thing/
